In person services suspended

Having reviewed our arrangements earlier today, we have made the difficult decision to suspend all in person services in Cyncoed Ministry Area until, at least, the end of January 2021. We recognise that, for many, the ability to attend services in person is a great comfort and a lifeline in these challenging times. However, at the same time we must also take seriously our Christian responsibility to safeguard and protect the most vulnerable in our community. Therefore, we have decided…

Advent & Christmas 2020

In 2020, Advent & Christmas will be very different to previous years, because of the various Covid-19 restrictions in place. We are living our lives as never before – distanced from each other, anxious, uncertain, fearful, sick and grieving. Many feel the shadows of darkness and despair all around them. So, this year, we invite you to join us for a mix of online and in person services which draw us towards the light. The light of Jesus, which is…

Diocesan Healing & Reconciliation Conference (Online)

Revd Beverley, along with Revd John and others from across our Diocese, have organised what looks to be a fantastic online conference on Saturday 7th November to explore healing and reconciliation. The half day includes a keynote address from Dr Gillian Straine, who spoke so well at our Ministry Area Study Day last summer, and a great selection of group workshops. Have you wondered about any of the themes of healing, wholeness, wellbeing, or rebuilding relationships? Are you looking for…

‘Fire break’ Lockdown Update

Following the Welsh Government’s announcement of a new ‘circuit breaker’ lockdown from 23rd October to 9th November, our in-person services on upcoming Sundays will be suspended. During this period all our online services will continue, along with our new online Life Groups. If you are struggling, and we can help in any way, do get in touch with one of our team.

Resuming In-Person Worship – Stage 1

As a temporary step towards resuming face-to-face services, during the rest of July and August, we will be offering a simple Holy Eucharist at All Saints’ Cyncoed. Due to the requirement to maintain 2 metres physical distance, the capacity for this service is limited to 14 households (or extended households). Up to 4 members of the same household may sit together, without the need to physically distance. If you wish to attend, on your own or with others, you MUST…

Opening for Private Prayer

Starting from next Sunday, 12th July, All Saints Cyncoed will be open from 3.00pm to 5.00pm every Sunday afternoon for private prayer. We have put measures in place to ensure the building can be used safely, while maintaining physical distancing. Take a look at this video to get a sense of what the church building will be like when you arrive: Volunteers Needed To do this, though, we need the support of volunteers. There will be two shifts – 2.45pm…

Christian Aid Week

Less than 2 weeks before the start of this year’s Christian Aid Week a small team of us met via Zoom to plan a revised programme of activities under Covid-19 restrictions. All our activities had to move online which was a challenge to our usual team of ‘big event’ planners to put their energy to a different focus. We are delighted with how the week has gone and the engagement that we have seen in our online community. People have…

Services Cancelled – Covid-19 / Coronavirus Response

Dear all I’m writing to let you know that, on the instruction of the Bishops of the Church in Wales, we are today suspending all our upcoming services, groups and events in the Ministry Area, including Sunday services, until further notice. In addition the Ministry Area Office will be closed to the public during this period. While these steps are necessary to safeguard everyone, in particular those who are most vulnerable, this most certainly does not mean that the ministry…

An invitation to meet Bishop Cherry

A message from Bishop Cherry: In an interview with the Argus just after my election as Bishop of Monmouth, I said that I wanted to be a bishop who is visible and accessible. As a way of meeting as many of you as possible in the early months of my ministry here, a number of gatherings have been arranged in different parts of the diocese for us to share in worship, food and conversation. Everyone is welcome, whether a church-goer…
