Being welcoming

This article is taken from October’s Ministry Area Magazine, available in our churches now. Our toddler group Little Adventurers has now been running for nearly a year! During this time, we have welcomed in many new families with quite a few having no formal connection to the church. If you ask our volunteers you’ll find out that we have a lively time with lots of chances to play, sing, take part in crafts and then bible stories. One of our…

Holy Week 2019

For followers of Jesus, Holy Week is ‘the week the revolution began‘. As we walk together through the final days of Jesus’ life, we are drawn into an event which lies at the very centre of the Christian story. Why not join us on the journey at our Holy Week services? Celebrate the revolution that happened once for all when the power of love overcame the love of power. And, in the power of that same love, join in the…

The Heart of the Matter

It’s a remarkably common phenomenon that when we, as people, experience intense suffering, it’s precisely then that we often find ourselves reaching out desperately for God. As we approach the final two weeks of Lent — a period often called ‘Passiontide’ because it is the time in the church year when we are drawn to reflect on Jesus’ passion — one of the parts of the passion narrative which is so often glossed over is the Garden of Gethsemane.
